GALWAY, IRELAND
April, 2007
After a few days in Dublin city, we all had the itch to see the country side of Ireland. We had heard of Galway Bay and a few locals boasted of its charm and beauty. Since it was on the other side of the Emerald Isle, this was a great chance to see the country side from the comfort of the train.
Unfortunately, the weather took a bit of a turn during this part of the trip. The once blue skies and fluffy white clouds had turned to gray with drizzle and mist. I'm sure Galway is every bit as beautiful and charming as they told us on clear and sunny day, but it was certainly not the highlight of our trip.
With island adventures, beautiful hilltop views and nearby cliffs to see, I would recommend checking the weather before visiting Galway.
The next day we headed south for Cork, Blarney, Kinsale and Cobh.
