Green Sand Beach
The visit to Green Sand Beach turned out to be a different adventure than we thought it would be. The road to the beach was VERY long. It took us to the peninsula of the island which is the southernmost point in the United States. After several bumps in the road, we came to a sign that indicated it was the spot for Green Sand Beach parking. The beach was nowhere in site. What we did see, however, was a lot of broken glass. It looked like a bad place to leave a rental car. So instead of seeing green sand, we visited with the dog and cats that greeted us upon our arrival.
These cats would not leave us alone.
Posing with a new friend
Sharpening its claws. It looks like a black panther.
This little dog was so friendly.
There were a few cows that I tried to get close to on the way back up. They were not so friendly.
There were black cows and brown cows.
Near the end of the road was this great little bake shop. The morning was not a total loss. The bread was so fresh!
