Volcanoes National Park

It's surprising how the weather changes by going up in the mountains.  We visited the Volcano House gift shop for socks and jackets before venturing through the park.

This is my first look into Kilauea Iki Crater from Crater Rim Drive.

The lava has cooled in this crater, but there are a lot of steam vents.

Some hikers are down below walking across the crater floor.

Another crater...

Lava once covered this road in 1982.

Here's a distance look at Halema'uma'u Crater from Jaggar Museum.

This massive hill marks the area of recent lava flows to the ocean.

This rpad leads to the recent lava flow that's now hitting the ocean.

44 acres fell off into the ocean near this point just one week prior, so we were told not to go too close...  duh!

This lava shelf makes it dangerous to get close to the edge.

An old lava tube is now a cave opening to the ocean.
