Place De La Concorde

This is home to the largest square in Paris and was first laid in 1754.  In 1836, an obelisk from the temple of Luxor was erected here. The monument contains Egyptian hieroglyphics. The square is a gateway to the Garden of Tuileries.

The monument sits in the middle of a pair of matching fountains.

Here's a closer view of one of the fountains.
