PARIS, FRANCE

May, 2006

This trip was made following a visit to London.  I left the Waterloo station early in the morning and arrived in Paris at Gare du Nord via the Eurostar.  The train ride lasted about 2 1/2 hours and provided excellent views of the country side with a brief dip under the English Channel.

Paris was everything I expected.  I was not disappointed for a moment.  The photos should confirm that.  My top three highlights were the Eiffel Tower, Louvre Museum and Sacre-Coeur Basilica.

I got to the points of interest by using the underground and my own two feet.  I bought a pedometer for this trip and clocked about 10 miles per day.  On the last day, I set my record at 15 miles!  I guess the dangling carrot was a glass of wine on the Eiffel tower at night.  That was the last stop of the trip.
